Nestled in the Nuwara-Eliya Hills and situated in the quaint and scenic town of Ramboda, this historic property was part of the Glenloch Tea Estate Group first established in 1917 . The original villa has been carefully restored to stay true to its colonial origins but with all modern amenities to cater to the 21st century traveller.
Situated 3,700 feet above ground, guests will enjoy panoramic views from every room of the villa in cool and comfortable climates. The villa consists of six private en-suite rooms situated around a beautiful hill garden that leads directly onto the mountain landscape, including a view over the national reservoir at Kotmale.
Guests will enjoy the services of a private butler who will take care of their every need. Meanwhile, our chefs serve an array of international and local cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Guests are encouraged to sample delicious Sri-Lankan food made from fresh local hill produce, but meals can be catered to individual tastes on request.
Tranquillity reigns supreme here – Floating Mountain Villa is an ideal retreat for those who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and relax in truly serene surroundings.
The grounds of the villa have been specifically designed for this purpose – with an outdoor meditation and yoga retreat, outdoor dining areas and a pool from which guests can enjoy the stunning vistas. Guests can learn about the art of tea at the tea factory situated at the foot of the hill, gaining an unrivalled insight into the world-famous teas of Sri Lanka produced locally.
There are nearby hiking trails which can be easily accessed from the Villa, where guests can essentially follow the beautiful views through miles of mountainous forests, stumbling across a few quaint villages along the way.
